Band of The Week
Jungleset is an Austin based musical group founded in early 2007. Principal songwriters, Scott Standley [Vocals/Guitar] and D. Yirgou [Guitar] are accompanied by Meggan Carney [Keys/Vocals], Dylan and Christopher Chafic Saad [Drums], and Tom Crail [Bass]. Live, they have been accompanied by performance artist/filmmaker Bob Peck on visuals, and lights.
Jungleset spans genres, making each their own, from furious fuzz-rock anthems with blaring horn sections, to somber southern-nostalgic marches, to gently weaved, electro-pop vignettes. Their performance evolves a manic tight-rope intensity while keeping their musical sensibility on its toes. Their tone inspires worlds of jetset hedonism, old-school attitude and a libertine imagination tickled by the explicit.

OK- So let me tell you how excited I was when I found out they were doing a P.O.P. movie, because I use to play the video game all the time back in tha day! lol. And I use to play the cell phone version real talk. Back in the day it was either that or "snake" on our cell phone... nowadays you can watch TV from your phone! LOL! .. ya feel me? So I was excited to see this movie cause I am familiar with the storyline and everything... HOWEVER, I was so shocked that a lot of people didn't KNOW that P.O.P. was a video game prior the movie... so anyways- I saw the movie on Sunday afternoon with the homies and it was pretty good... but it was by NO MEANS great.
They're hyping it up, but real talk- don't spend your money to see it. Wait to see it on DVD. I say spend your money to see "Death at a Funeral". That is clearly the movie of the MONTH!
